Katrina spent her first 5 years out of college at Dena Designs in California. She fine tuned her technical skills and product design knowledge.
Katrina excels in product design and production ready files. Her time with Dena was always bright and fun, all while never missing a deadline and giving licensors our best final product.
Katrina designed dozens of melamine and ceramic dinnerware sets for Zrike, and paper party supplies for CR Gibson.
Katrina spent her first five years out of college with Dena Designs in California, as one of only 2-3 employees. She was immersed in the world of licensing, surface design, show season, product design, and became an expert in Adobe Creative programs. At the same time, she was the office assistant and organizer - the epitome of a multitasking employee!
In Katrina's time at Dena's Studio, the company was nominated twice and won Best Art Brand of the Year from the Licensing Excellence Awards - a huge honor.
It's not always easy taking gouache paintings and reducing their colors down for textile screen prints. Katrina has all the technical skills needed to get hand painted & complex files production-ready. She uses these skills to mentor and train others in speeding up their workflows.
Katrina worked on 2-3 fabric collections per year with Dena for Westminster Fibers, sold in independent quilting stores around the country.
Katrina helped Dena create happi by Dena: a lifestyle design-driven line featuring a colorful collection of charming wide-eyed characters and geometric whimsy. She designed dozens of happi products for paper goods, tabletop, quilting fabric, clothing, plushies, and baby bedding. The pink happi crib collection, sold at Babies R Us, was a #1 seller.
